Ryan grew up under the Arizona sun, but life eventually led him to Ohio, and now both places feel like home. It’s that blend of roots, experiences, and pride that helped inspire The Happy Brand and the sub-brands that tell their story: Happy Ohioan, Happy Arizonan, Happy Believer, and Happy Culture.
As Chief Happy Officer, Ryan is the problem-solver and systems thinker behind the scenes. Where Shi brings the creative spark, Ryan brings the structure. He handles the technical side of the business: the setup, the operations, the smooth customer experience, and all the little details that make everything function the way it should. If it loads fast, works seamlessly, or feels effortless to use…that’s him.
But more than anything, Ryan loves building something meaningful with Shi. Creating a brand that reflects their story and gives people a way to wear what matters most: home, faith, and the everyday moments worth celebrating.

Shi is the creative heart of The Happy Brand. Born and raised in Ohio, she carries the seasons, traditions, and familiar comfort of this place in everything she creates. From design concepts and color palettes to the small details that make each piece feel personal, Shi is the vision and voice behind the brand’s style.
Ohio was her first home, and the place that shaped so much of who she is, which is why building Happy Ohioan was such a natural beginning. Now, as The Happy Brand has grown to include Happy Arizonan, Happy Believer, and Happy Culture, Shi brings that same warmth, intention, and storytelling to every sub-brand.
What started as her dream of building an apparel brand has become a shared family venture. One that reflects both her Ohio roots and Ryan’s Arizona beginnings. Every design she creates is crafted to make people smile, spark connection, and celebrate the parts of life that matter most.
